Florence - Ponte Vecchio
The Ponte Vecchio, or Old Bridge, is said to
have existed as early as the Roman period, and
was finally rebuild, after its repeated demolition,
by Taddeo Gaddi in 1345. It consists of three
arches, over which a covered passage is carried.
Its sides are lined with goldsmiths' shops, which
have stood there for centuries
