Coldstream Guards

Although embodied in 1650 as a regiment of Cromwell's New Model Army the Coldstream Regiment under their colonel, General Monck, was later instrumental in the restoration of the monarchy. In 1661 the Regiment became the Sovereign's personal bodyguard. This prestigious duty they combine with worldwide operational roles. The motto of the Regiment is 'Nulli Secundus' (Second to none)
